Those who have often lamented that Beavis And Butt-head never got the chance to do the Monkey Boy to Katy Perry or call Justin Bieber a little girl are in luck: REVIEWniverse is exclusively reporting that B&B creator Mike Judge is currently outlining 30 new episodes of the show with “hopes for a full-throttle return.” According to the site’s “anonymous source,” Judge plans on retaining the show’s original sketches-and-videos structure, with his permanently adolescent walking ids huh-huh-ing all over contemporary music clips (which, according to our own anonymous source, still exist). There’s no official confirmation from either Judge’s camp or MTV at this point, so let's not get too excited or anything, but REVIEWniverse seems confident in its assertion that Judge is “definitely in the midst of writing new material.”

Of course, Judge has been the subject of these sorts of rumors before, telling Cinema Blend last year that every time he says he’s thinking about doing more Beavis And Butt-head, he’ll “go on the Internet and see a headline that says I'm starting on the sequel.” Judge was referring specifically to a follow-up to 1996's Beavis And Butt-head Do America, admitting that he occasionally still comes up with ideas (including putting them in tech support, having them try to buy a Mercedes, and revisiting them in their 60s as “two dirty old men sitting on the couch”). And not to contribute to those same premature headlines, but in that same interview Judge says that his biggest hindrance is simply having the time to do it—and now that The Goode Family didn’t exactly take off, he would certainly seem to have plenty of that. So we’ll remain cautiously optimistic that REVIEWniverse’s “anonymous source” doesn’t turn out to be a total choad.
